ASTOR MODEL 230 (CIRCA 1960)

The Astor model 230 was manufactured by Pye (N.Z.) Ltd in about 1960.

Other radios based on the same chassis:

5-valves plus magic eye tuning, multi-band bandspread

One of the early radios to use a printed circuit board rather than a chassis. These can be nightmarish to repair these days as the circuit boards did not handle heat well - so a well used set will likely have blackened / scorched PCB around the output and rectifier valves.

Equivalent to the Pye PZ230 below:

Pye PZ230 'Messenger'
