Date is a guess based on the valve compliment - most likely to be mid-late 50's
The model number might not be correct - the 129/256 in the serial field on the back might actually just mean #129 of a run of 256 radios although 256 mantle sets does seem like a large run for a small business. If you have an example of this model with either the model number written in, or a different serial number then please get in touch.
