The Empire model 129 was manufactured by Westco Products Ltd in 1949.

6-valve dual wave radio

One of the first of the perspex wave of cabinets that appeared around this time, quite fragile as it was made from several sections glued together.  Note that this one is missing its dial cover.

Often the model number will be stamped into the metalwork in the back, in front of the serial number - ie: if you find 126 3454 then its probably a model 126.  This is not always the case, but its pretty common.  Often a different number stamp will be used as well, so the model code and the serial number will be in different 'fonts'.  Here are a couple of examples:
